The size of the aggregation-core tier
is directly proportional to the size of the access tiers, specifically the
number of uplinks from the access tiers, because this tier’s job is to connect
all of the access tiers.
The function of the aggregation-core
tier is simply to interconnect all of the access tier silos with the rest of
the world
